Reaching out to a world in need.

“The mission of our social ministry team is to coordinate the congregation’s compassionate witness to God’s love and grace with the needs of our congregation, the local community, and the world.”

Grace Ministries broadside March 2020

AFGHANISTAN REFUGEE FAMILY CO-SPONSORSHIP:

Neighborhood Support Teams have been formed for our Central MA area; each NST will help a family for a year as they acclimate to our area. GRACE has joined one of the first three, in league with Bethlehem Lutheran in Sturbridge, Zion Lutheran-Oxford/Reconciliation Episcopal-Webster, Emanuel Lutheran-Worcester and Salem Covenant-Worcester.
2023 UPDATE: We are still walking with the family as they move-forward in their lives in Worcester! Members of our congregations continue with ESL training, assisting with health direction/agencies, and providing some transportation to appointments at times. They have their own vehicle, the kids are in school, we have mutually grown in our relationships with the family in appreciating the blessedness of life!

ELCA GOOD GIFTS: Our young people work with our Christian Ed Director to determine which group to fundraise and help each year.

DISMAS HOUSE:  Grace continues support of various Dinners on the last Friday of each month.

WORCESTER FELLOWSHIP, INC.:  WF, Inc conducts their Worship Services every Sunday at noon on the Worcester Common.   Their core membership, along with volunteers from Worcester County churches and synagogues, serve lunches before Worship each Sunday.  Volunteers from the Bethel campus participate in this effort on various Sundays throughout the year.

IN THE HOUR OF NEED (IHN): We have the opportunity twice each year to staff the IHN’s home on June Street in Worcester for overnights.

We wish to thank all who have continued to work hard in bringing hope to a world in need.  Announcements will be made and invitations extended to participate in these and other outreach projects in the coming year.  Please contact Pastor Andrew or members of the Social Ministry Team if you are aware of any need within our congregations or community.
